Africa consists of 54 countries, each with its own laws on car imports. Some allow salvage cars, while others do not. Some limit the age of vehicles allowed to be imported, while others provide tax breaks on electric and hybrid vehicles. With such a wide range of laws and regulations, it would be impossible to list them all here. However, each individual country page we ship to has information on the import tax and the type of vehicles allowed to be imported.
Contact us to get an exact rate on how much import tax will be on your vehicle.
Whichever method of international car shipping you choose, will require you to work with an overseas agent local to your destination. You always have a choice of going with your own local import agent, or we can provide one in any of the destinations you choose to ship to. Cars shipped to Africa are usually sourced from US car auctions such as Manheim, Copart or IAAI. Auctions are popular due to the large volume of vehicles available, resulting in lower purchase costs and cheaper transportation rates from the auctions. However, these type of auctions are usually not available to the public, and require a wholesale or retail dealers license. Many international car buyers choose to go through US auto auction brokers, or apply for an auto dealers license themselves.
